The US carried out a series of strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen late Saturday evening, according to a US defense official, targeting numerous weapons storage facilities across at least three locations.

A multiple-missile attack by Yemen's Houthi rebels on two US warships has been thwarted, the Pentagon has said. At least eight drones, five anti-ship ballistic missiles and three anti-ship cruise missiles were aimed at the USS Stockdale and the USS Spruance on Monday.

The Iran-backed group launched drones, fired missiles at two US warships in an hours-long attack, the Pentagon says.

Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea had earlier said the first operation targeted a US aircraft carrier in the Arabian sea with a number of missiles and drones.

The US military carried out a series of airstrikes on Houthi weapons warehouses in Yemen. The operation was conducted in response to terrorist attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea, reports the United States Central Command (CENTCOM).
